Traditional tales
This week we have been:
Reading the story ‘A wolf at the door’. Baby bear was at home and all his friends were running away from the wolf! They went to hide in baby bears house. Lots of different traditional story characters came to baby bears house. They were all very scared but they realised that it was just their friend Wolfie.
Our rhyme this week was ‘The lion and the unicorn’ the children really enjoyed singing the rhyme and thinking about what it meant we hope you enjoy this at home.
In maths this week we have continued our learning on solid 3-D shapes. The children have really enjoyed exploring 3-D shapes and making their own using flat 2-D shapes. We also went on a shape hunt to see which shapes we could find. We have continued this learning by sending home a solid 3-D shape home learning sheet for you to do with your children at home.
In RE this week we have been learning about ‘Father’s Day’ and making Father’s Day cards. We have also learnt about the Ascension. We went to the hall to look at the very large icon, we spoke about all the people in the icon that we could see in the icon and learnt about what was happening
This week we had some little visitors visit our class! They are very tiny caterpillars! They have been eating food for almost 2 weeks and are almost ready to become cocoons. we are looking forward to watching them grow and seeing what they transform into!
We have also been very busy this week getting ready for our class assembly!
Next week we will be:
- Starting to think about fantasy stories.
- Learning about weight, focusing on heavier and lighter.
- Learning about open and closed and wet and dry with Kit and Pup.
- Re-visiting being safe on the road.
