Jack breaks the beanstalk
This week we have been:
Reading the story ‘Jack breaks the beanstalk’. We have been continuing our learning around ‘Jack and the beanstalk’ and looking at different versions of the story. We have been making more beanstalks and castles using the creative table and watching our beans grow!
This week was maths week. We have been counting and adding amounts together using ladybirds, measuring beanstalks using cubes and practising writing numbers to 20. We also had fun with our mummys and daddys when they came for the open morning.
In science this week we have been learning about inside and outside using Kit and Pup. Watch the video at home and explore inside and outside.

In RE this week we have been learning about Islam and what a Muslim is. We have been talking about how looking different does not make us any different. We learnt a song called ‘I love you’ by Barney the dinosaur to remind us we can love different people and show them we care. We will be continuing this learning next week.

At the end of this week we read a story called ‘The lonely beast’. The children enjoyed listening to the story so much that some of the children painted pictures for the beast.
Next week we will be:
- Reading the story ‘Jim and the beanstalk’ and thinking about the differences between stories.
- Exploring being helpful and why its important to say thank you.
- Continue counting and combining numbers using ladybirds.
- Reading the story ‘Jonah and the whale’
