The Tiny Seed
This week we have been:
Reading the story ‘The tiny seed’. We learnt how a sunflower grows and what happens to the seeds that are inside its head. We know that seeds need soil, water, sun and time. We will be planting seeds next week and watching then grow!
In phonics this week we have been learning the sounds l, h, sh and r. We have thinking about these sounds at the start of words and objects.
In maths this week we have been talking about the ‘teen’ at the end of our teen numbers. We counted in different many ways to 20 and back again and used a number puzzle to help us.
In RE this week we read a story called the ‘Good Samaritan’. It was a sad story but we learnt what a good Samaritan is and why its important to help others.
Next week we will be finishing off any learning from our topic this half term, ‘In the garden’ and celebrating the Queens Jubilee.
After Half-term we will be:
- Continuing our learning on growing by reading ‘Jaspers Beanstalk’.
- Exploring money.
- Learning about Fathers day.
Messages home
The children will be sharing their learning with you and the whole school on Friday 24th June. We would like the children to be dressed in green for the performance. We would like to ask that on this Friday the children come to school dressed in green for the day! Any questions please come and ask!
Thank you for your ongoing support, Mrs Lowe
