Traditional tales- All the 3’s

This week we have been:

Reading traditional tales with 3 characters. We read the three little pigs, the three billy goats gruff and Goldilocks and the three bears. We have had lots of fun retelling all the stories, building houses and bridges, making porridge, setting the table for the three bears thinking about size and making them food.

In science this week we have been exploring how to make a ball move and which material works best. We have also been watching our caterpillars grow and grow!

Next week we will be:

  • Reading Jack and the beanstalk
  • Exploring measuring linked to the story
  • Planting seeds
  • Continuing learning about road safety
  • Exploring Islam

Home learning ideas:

  • Read the three stories at home and explore making bridges for the goats and houses for the pigs.
  • Encourage the children to set your table at home, do you have different size plates etc?

Messages home:

We know that the weather is getting warmer but can we ask that you make sure the children always have a jumper and coat when they come to school. We use our outside area daily and the weather can change very quickly.

Thank you for your support, Mrs Herne
