Welcome to Thassos Nursery
The children have settled in well and have taken well to our daily routines.
Ourselves
This week we have been:
Learning about how to be a good friend and sharing with others. We read ‘The Rainbow fish’ story. The rainbow fish learnt that if you share you not only make others happy but it makes you happy too. We made our own rainbow fish and we also painted an extra large fish together. We used lots of colours to make him colourful.
In phonics we focused on listening to sounds that we hear around us. Using a CD we heard the rain, the beach, and the wind. When we went outside we heard a helicopter, crunchy leaves, and a pram being pushed. Please continue listening at home and get the children to share what you have found.
In maths this week we sorted coloured fish and then counted how many we had in each colour. We also looked at which one had more and which one had the least amount.
In RE this week we have been learning how to make the sign of the cross and how to say our prayers.
Next week we will be:
- Learning how and why we need to wash our hands.
- Learning about doctors and what they do.
- Learning about how God loves me.
How you can help at home:
- Supporting hand development by painting and drawing or building with blocks.
- Playing counting activities and finding numbers around your home.
Thank you for your support, Mrs Herne.
Mrs Bruno and Mrs Lowe.
