People who help us – Medical
This week we have been:
Learning about nurses, doctors, opticians, dentists and vets. We have had great fun making people better in the role-play area.
In phonics this week we have been learning the sounds:
- ‘f’ – down the flower and draw the leaves.
- ‘l’ – down the long leg.
Please continue to reinforce these at home.
We have been continuing our learning about coins and we read the story ‘The great pet sale’. The little boy bought all kinds of animals with his money. We looked at making the correct amount of money using the 1p coins.
In RE this week we talked about God and Jesus and how much they love us. We made badges to take home as a reminder that although we can not see them they are there and they care for us very much.
This week we went on our trip with Apples and Honey. We had great fun on Wimbledon Common, making a bonfire by collecting sticks and twigs, playing and building the Gruffalo house and making rubbings from the trees. Please come and see the photos in class.
This week we had a special delivery!!! 5 caterpillars were delivered in the post. We are going to take care of them and watch them grow. Please come and have a look at their progress over the next few weeks. Look at how tall our beans are!!
As you are aware we are preparing for our class assembly so we have been practising! Please let us know what your child is going to dress up as and what they would like to be when they grow up.
Next week we will be learning:
- Continuing our learning about people who help us, focusing on the supermarket.
- Learning the sounds ‘sh’ and ‘r’.
- Continuing using money, especially in the shop role-play area.
- Re-visiting 2D shape.
- Learning about sharing through a bible story.
How you can help at home:
- Continue reinforcing the sounds we have learnt so far and name writing.
- Take a trip to the shop and get the children involved as much as they can! This would be great for them to show others next week.
- Counting and recognising numbers.
Thank you for your ongoing support, Mrs Herne.
Mrs Bruno, Mrs Lowe and Miss Kelly.
