Dear Parents,

Apologies for the delayed homework, the maths homework is now visible on Edshed.

The writing homework will be added as normal this coming Friday.

This week, Year 1 will be focusing on fairy tale characters and settings within fairy tale stories. The children will be learning all about adjectives and how we can use them within our writing. Along with, securing how to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops independently.

This week, in year 1…

We’ve enjoyed writing drafts for our fairy tales, creating a fairy tale castle and role playing different fairy tales. We’ve also focused on comparing the mass of different objects by hand and using scales.

Outside the classroom, we continued our mini beast hunt and found some interesting finds!

Next week…

We look forward to editing our writing and producing a book, adding more to our castle and preparing performances of our fairy tales. In maths we are turning our focus towards measuring capacity.
