Welcome to Year 3 & 4
This week…
In Maths, we built on pupil understanding of number lines from previous years, focusing on using the
number line to 100, then to 1,000 and 10,000. We concluded the week with number comparison and problems solving. This week home learning will help us consolidate the learning from the week.
In English, we’ve focused on the purpose and features of newspaper writing.
In Science, we learnt about looking after our teeth; what foods and beverages cause the greatest damage and how to effectively bush teeth to promote good oral hygiene.

Welcome to our new page!
This week…
In Maths, we continued to focus on place value with numbers to 10,000 and beyond. This included the introduction of flexible partitioning. This was a challenging concept, the home learning set will give pupils the opportunity to practice.
In English, we continued reading our class book ‘Coming to England’ written by Floella Benjamin. Over the week, we focused on the Floella’s descriptive language and explored the challenges of her early childhood through diary writing.
In Science, we have learnt about the different types of teeth and their functions.
