Welcome to Year 6

Christos Anesti

Christos Anesti everyone and welcome to the summer term.

This week the government have announced new online learning with the Oak National Academy.  The new website includes online learning and lessons for all ages groups from reception upwards and can be found here:

https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom

We recommend doing these and the BBC Bitesize learning at https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons

Please remember, as Mrs Mantilas said to parents in her previous letter, this is only a guidance and do not feel obliged to do everything.

If you would like to do some more reading please also go to www.oxfordowl.co.uk

Year 6 – Week Commencing Monday 20 April 2020

Hi Year 6,

I hope you are all well and you have had a good Easter. I hope everyone has been doing some of the virtual days out we previously posted!

From Monday 20 April, the BBC has produced daily lessons for everyone.

You can find the timetable for the week commencing Monday 20th here

BBC Timetable 20 April

All of the lessons for Year 6 are here https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zncsscw/year-6-lessons/1

And if you would like to challenge yourself to some Year 7 (or even Year 8 as I know some of you will be more than capable of this) you can find further year groups here https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons?fbclid=IwAR1U4S8RSGtT-_rAZXwXAVlSGx5_fCX1A-CCk4mmQ455CV7vy1vKMimFByg

Please remember that this is only a guidance and you aren’t obliged to do everything. Do try to do the wellbeing lessons though – this week is about transition to secondary school so it is very useful! Some of the Year 7 to Year 10 wellbeing lessons may also be interesting to you.

Don’t forget to read too. This is one of the most important things you can do and you can listen to audio books on Amazon audible.

Year 6 Week 3 – Week Commencing Monday 6th April 2020

Hi Year 6,

I hope everyone is doing well and you’re all staying safe.

Here is a suggested daily timetable. Please do not worry if you don’t fit it all in every day! Year-6-Daily-Timetable

Every day please try to do PE with Joe Wicks at 9am and listen to David Walliams at 11 am. Please also choose a book to listen to from Amazon Audible – links are all below in the blog.

The next two weeks are very special in our calendar as it is Holy Week and Easter (Western Easter is Sunday 12thand Orthodox Easter is Sunday 19thApril).

To celebrate Holy Week and Easter, we would like you to create a celebration of Holy Week and Easter. This can be in any form you would like – it could be a booklet, a series of paintings, comic strips, you could act it out and role play with your family, record yourself on your phone and show it to your family at home or elsewhere. You can decide how you would like to do this.

I have attached a powerpoint here but you can also do your own research and add any relevant bible verses.
