Champions!

A team from St Cyprian’s went to a football tournament  in November 2018, organised by Crystal Palace, for schools in the Croydon Borough. There were 24 other schools there.

The results in our group were:

Won 5-0 vs Christ Church

Won 1-0 vs Ecclesbourne

Won 3-0 vs St Johns

Drew 0-0 vs St Aidens

Drew 1-1 vs St Chads

Lost 2-0 vs Margret Roper.

The team made it through to the quarter finals against The Minster School where we drew 1-1 and then won on penalties. We then faced Margaret Roper again and beat them 1-0 to progress through to the Finals. In the final, we beat St Josephs 2-1, scoring our winning goal in the last 20 seconds of the game!

St Cyprian’s won the Croydon tournament and now have a play-off tournament against the winners of the Sutton, Tandridge and Bromley tournaments. The winners of that play off tournament will get the chance to represent Crystal Palace at the ‘premier league primary stars’ tournament, where they will face primary school’s from all over England, representing the 19 other premier league teams.

Congratulations to the team and to Miss Bath, their coach!
