Kefallonia WB 12.10.2015

This week in Kefallonia we will be focussing on the story of the Funny Bones! As our topic this term is “All about me”, we will be using the Funny Bones as a stimulus to learn all about our bodies, and what they do.

In Literacy, we will be continuing to practice our CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words, using our sounds to finish simple words and sentences. The sounds we will be focussing on in phonics this week are n, p and g. We will also be recapping on the sounds we have previously learned: m, a, s, t, d, and i. We have been using a combination of Read Write Inc, and Jolly Phonics to learn our sounds.

In Maths we will continue to look at number formation, and we will be seeing how high we can all count! We will be using the Funny Bones story as a stimulus to make skeleton figures and then count and write the number of bones in the figures we have made. We will be doing lots of fun sensory number formation in sand and playdoh too.

On our creative table we will be having a go at making our own Funny Bones masks and moving skeletons using paper and split pins.

In RE this week we are learning that God’s house is my house. We will be looking at what church is; how we behave in church, why we go to church and what a church looks like.

We hope you have a wonderful week.
