Zakynthos Class Home Learning – Week Ending 13.02.26
Dear Parent, Carer,
In English this week, the children completed their persuasive speech by editing, correcting, adding some devices and some children had the opportunity to share their amazing speech with the class.
In Maths, we started a new unit called Fractions and the children looked at how to ‘Understand the denominators of unit fractions’, ‘Compared and order unit fractions’, to ‘Understand the numerators of non-unit fractions’, to ‘Understand the whole’ and ‘Compared and ordered non-unit fractions’.
In RE, we started a new unit called ‘Love Means Being Respectful’. The children learnt about what it means to respect, we talked about how God wants us to treat each other and looked at the Bible verse “Do for others what you want them to do for you” (Matthew 7 v 12).
In PSHE, our lesson was based on ‘Communicating our feelings’, and ‘Understanding consent and boundaries’. We talked about how to recognise when we need to ask for consent (permission), to understand that it is okay to say ‘no’ if we feel uncomfortable, to identify their own personal boundaries and to practise using words to explain how we feel.
Please find the home learning attached using the link below and we have also included a spelling sheet as extra support.
