Zakynthos Class Home Learning – Week Ending 13.03.26

Dear Parents, Carers,

This week in English, the children focused on editing, proof reading, amending and publishing their personal narrative.

In Maths, we continued the unit ‘Mass and Capacity’ and learned about ‘Equivalent masses kilograms and grams’, ‘Compare mass’ and ‘Add and subtract mass’.

This week it was ‘Science Week’ and our theme was ‘Curiosity’. The children learnt about what is ‘Curiosity’, they came up with questions that they were curious about and wanted to find out the answer. We looked at different scientists both young and old. Then as a class we had a question that we investigated using the Enquiry Circle and the children had fun testing, observing and concluding what they found out. The children had a Virtual Reality (VR) workshop experience which transported them to Australia, where they saw the Great Barrier Reef and various sea creatures. This experience left the children in awe and very excited.

In RE, we looked at how we should respect our Leaders. The children drew a bishop and wrote facts about what Bishops do and  how they can show respect to our leaders.

Please find the home learning attached using the link below and we have also included a spelling sheet as extra support.
