Zakynthos Class Home Learning – Week Ending 14.11.25

Dear Parents, Carers,

This week in English,  the children re-wrote the beginning of one of the fable story in sentences, using a variety of sentence lengths to aid the flow of the writing.  They also used subordinating and coordinating conjunctions, adverbs and prepositions to express time and cause.  They had the opportunity to write an action scene using prepositions and prepositional phrases to tell the reader where or when things were happening. Another task they had was to use an illustration from one of the fable books as a stimulus and to write sentences about their chosen fable.

In Maths, we completed the Addition and Subtraction unit. The children focused was on Complements to 100, Facts family, Add 2-digit and 3-digit numbers, Subtract a 2-digit number from a 3-digit number and Inverse Operations.

In RE, one lesson was based on ‘Jesus wants us to forgive each other’. Then we started a new unit called ‘Love in Church’ and  looked at the Church as God’s family.
