Zakynthos Class Home Learning – Week Ending 20.03.26

Dear Parents, Carers,

In English, our new unit is ‘Poetry’. The children explored ‘Calligrams’ and created their own single word calligram.

This week the children’s learning has been focused on preparing for Holy Week and they had a task of retelling the story of Lazarus  and in Math’s we continued with ‘Mass and Capacity’ and finished the unit with to measure capacities and volumes in litres and millilitres, find equivalent capacities and volumes (litres and millilitres), compare capacity and to add and subtract capacity and volume.

In Geography, the children looked at the negative and positive effects of living near a volcano and the effects of a volcanic eruption. In Design and Technology, they had a fun time evaluating seasonal ingredients, they had to move around each table in groups of five, try each food and added words to sticky notes to describe their flavour and texture.
