Traditional tales

This week we have been:

Reading the story ‘The tiger who came to tea’. We have been making tigers, drawing a plate of food that we think the tiger would like to eat, painting tigers, making tiger masks, counting with tigers, drawing Tigers using chalk and we have been building tiger dens using the big blocks.  The children really enjoyed our rhyme this week about the tiger, we hope you enjoy reading and singing the rhyme in your rhyme books this week.

In math’s this week we have been counting how many tigers there are in each circle. We have also had to think about small tigers and big tigers, which ones would fit in the circle depending on how big the number was.

With Kit and Pup this week we have been learning about thick and thin. we decided to paint our own tigers using thick and thin orange and black lines.

In RE this week we read the bible story ‘The Good Samaritan’. We decided that we all want to be a good Samaritan and help anyone who needs help.

We finished our traditional tale topic this week with a traditional table picnic. As it was raining we had a picnic under the shelter, we made our own sandwiches, had biscuits, crisps, cakes and juice. We had a great time our picnic!

After half term we will be:

  • Re-visiting our traditional tales learning.
  • Thinking about imagination.
  • Exploring 2-D and 3-D shape.
  • Learning about the Ascension.

We hope you have a lovely half-term!
