Fantasy

This week we have been:

Exploring super heroes by reading the story ‘Supertato’. We have had lots of fun this week with the story ‘Supertato’. Evil Pea has been on the loose and he’s been up to mischief in our class! He tied up Supertato, he opened all the frozen veg and put it in a water tray and then he wrapped up and tied up all of our Supertatos that we had made! We have the opportunity to try some of the different vegetables and fruit that were in the water tray and then we used special knives to help us cut up the fruits and vegetables, it was lots of fun!

In maths this week we continued on learning on symmetry. We have been making our own symmetrical paintings and we all know that symmetrical means it’s the same on both sides!

In RE and science this week we have been learning about how God made summer. We explored what summer looks like, what we wear during the summer, what the weather is like during the summer and what activities that you do during the summer time. We have been talking about being safe in the Sun while we are having fun and all of the kinds of activities that we will do when the weather is sunny. We also painted to summer trees using our hands and our fingers.

We have been reviewing our online safety this week with the last part of our Smartie the penguin story. If we are playing a tablet or phone at home we know that if something goes wrong we tell an adult, if a strange picture comes up we tell an adult, if someone strange talks to us we tell an adult! We have sent home a poster that the children made to remind them when they are at home.

Next week we will be:

• Exploring Trolls and Pirates using the story ‘The Troll’.
• Exploring more and less using treasure chests.
• Learning about weight and weighing.
• Learning about capacity.

Messages home

Our class assembly is on Friday, the 4th of July it will start around 9:00 to 9:15. We hope you can all make it, Please ensure the children are in school on time on that day at 8:40 as we need to get the children ready for the assembly.

Wednesday 9th July will be our class trip to Godstone farm! Please ensure the children are in school on time at 8:45 and that they have their packed lunch. We can provide a packed lunch from school which we can order for you. Please return your reply slip ASAP please.

We hope you have been having fun with the creative homework projects we have been sending home. Please bring them in so we can explore and share them with the whole class.
