Beanstalk 1/05/26

Dear Parents,

This week the children have been reading the stories of ‘ Jack and the jelly-beanstalk’ (reception) and ‘Jack and the beanstalk’ (nursery). We looked at both stories and how they differ. Reception children used their sounds to write a letter to Jack from Giant, saying sorry for being mean and rude to him. We also looked at the life cycle of a bean and how it grows. Children had the opportunity to grow their own beans, using seeds and cottonwool method. They will be observing them throughout the weeks and record any changes.

In Maths, we looked at how to select shapes for a purpose, rotate shapes as well as manipulate shapes.

In RE, we explored the religion of Islam and look at their special objects such as the prayer mat, the quran, hijab etc.
