Ithaca Home Learning 02.10.26 – 07.10.26

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another fantastic week of learning in Year 4 and the children have worked incredibly hard across all subjects.

In English, we have been focusing on persuasive writing. The children have begun planning  a persuasive speech about a topic they are passionate about. They have explored how to use powerful language, rhetorical questions and strong reasons to persuade their audience. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and hear them speak confidently about issues and interests that matter to them.

A huge well done to all of the children who have taken part in the sports events recently. We are very proud of the effort, teamwork and determination they have shown while representing the school. Their positive attitudes and sportsmanship have been a credit to our class.

As we move through the year, I would like to remind everyone of the importance of completing homework regularly. Homework provides valuable opportunities for children to practise and reinforce the learning that takes place in school. Consistent practice helps to build confidence and independence.

In particular, please encourage your child to spend time practising their times tables. Quick recall of multiplication facts is essential for many areas of mathematics and will support them greatly as we tackle more challenging concepts throughout the year. Even just a few minutes of practice each day can make a significant difference.

Thank you for your continued support at home. Together, we can help the children achieve their very best.

Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead
