Samos week ending 03.07.26
What a wonderful week we have had in Year 5! The children had the opportunity to visit St Constantine and St Helen Church and take part in a service. This was a fantastic follow-up to one of our RE lessons from last week, in which the children learned about how new churches are established. During the lesson, they also researched the history of our beloved church, St Constantine and St Helen Church, helping them to deepen their understanding of its importance within our local community and faith journey.
In Maths, the children continued working through the unit Converting Units. This has been a challenging area of learning, but the children have really impressed us with their ability to make connections to other maths units studied throughout the year. They have shown increasing confidence when applying their knowledge and reasoning skills to a range of problems.
To further support and consolidate their learning from the past two weeks, the children will receive some additional practice work. This is not something that needs to be handed in; rather, it is intended to provide extra opportunities for the children to strengthen their understanding and develop their problem-solving strategies at their own pace.
