Spetses Week Ending 04.07.25

In English, we started a new unit on non-chronological reports. Our core text is ‘Incredible Jobs You’ve (Probably) Never Heard Of’ by  Natalie Labarre. This text has led to some great ideas around unusual jobs. We ended the week with planning new pages for this book; ‘International Spy’ was a popular job idea.

In Maths, we began a unit on ‘Position and direction’; describing position using coordinates and plotting coordinates.

In RE,  year 3 the children focused on ‘Respecting Our World’ and a new big question around Muslim preparation for prayer. Year 4 focused on the BIG question: What is the role of the ‘leader’ in a place of worship.

Remember to keep working on times table knowledge and number bonds – the basis for the more complex mathematics.

For handwriting we follow the Nelson scheme, it supports correct formation of letters and helps to keep cursive writing neat and legible.
