Spetses week ending 07.03.25

In English, we wrote different sections for a local area guide to encourage people to move to Thornton Heath or Croydon. Over the week, we looked at different writing components, to create a persuasive piece; positive verbs and emotive vocabulary, imperative verbs and phrases and catchy slogans.

In Maths, we continued the unit on Fractions; placing fractions on a number line, comparing  & ordering non-unit fractions and understanding equivalent fractions.

In Science, we started the current unit ‘Electricity and circuits’, with a trip to the Science museum. We watched a demonstration on wireless electricity and explored circuits and much more. In class, we learnt more details on mains and battery charged appliances and investigated simple circuits.

In RE, we deepened their understanding of Orthodox Lent; they learnt about the 40 days preparation for Pascha and enjoyed flying kites for Clean Monday celebrations.
