Welcome back after half term!

In English, we began our new unit on non-fiction text. The first week started with a focus on the features of holiday brochures. We moved to research and making notes about the local area. The children began to look closely at persuasive writing, how adjectives can be used to write enticing descriptions.

In Maths, the children began a new unit on fractions; understand denominators, compare & order unit fractions, understand numerators, understand the whole and placing fractions on a number line.

In Geography, we started our new unit ‘Settlements’ with map work; locating our local area and beginning to use the OS legend to identify land use for the local area.
