Taking care of our planet – 13.02.26

Dear Parents,

This week we have been learning about how to take care of our planet and oceans. We read the book ‘Someone swallowed Stanley’- focusing on how some sea creatures might not survive because of waste and plastic bottles. Children created their own posters that showed one way in which they can save the environment.

In Maths, we explored height, length and time. Children enjoyed measuring and comparing their heights.

We have also celebrated Chinese New Year and looked at why and how people celebrate it. Children decorated Chinese Lanterns, read the story of the Great Race and looked at different Chinese traditions.

Finally, children are excited to show you their Jars of Happiness- following the Children’s Mental Health Week.

Happy Lunar Year and have a lovely half term.
