The Very Hungry Caterpillar – 13/03/26

Dear Parents,

This week we have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We read the story ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ and explored how the caterpillar grows through the different stages. The children also had a hands on experience in the classroom, by exploring our caterpillar growing kit. They used magnifying glasses and took notes of changes and results.

In maths, we learnt how to make arrangements of 10, bonds to 10 using 3 parts as well as making and finding a double to 10.

In RE, we explored the religion of Sikhism and their important people.

In PSHE, we had a discussion about the importance of female figures in our families. The children are excited to share with you their mothers day cards that they have been creating this week.

Finally, as part of science week, we explored which materials are the best in order to design a raincoat. The children tested different materials and decided that foil and plastic are the best to design a raincoat.

We hope you enjoy your weekend!
