Spetses week ending 20.06.25
In English, we continued the narrative unit this week. We used expanded noun phrases and the ‘Power of 3’ (3 similar adjectives grouped) to describe the setting of the Mad Hatter’s tea party. We also described the Queen of Hearts with the same writing components. Later in the week, we created magical/ fantasy worlds, following the styles of well known narratives such as Peter Pan. We also created a magical/ fantasy character for our main character to meet.
In Maths, we finished the time unit and started a unit on money; recapping pounds and pence, writing money using decimals, converting pounds and pence and compare amounts of money.
In RE, year 4 focused on working for justice and another big question; ‘What might you find in the home of someone who followed a faith?’. Year 3, focused on respecting Church leaders and a big question; ‘What is the significance of the Lord’s Prayer to Christians?’.
Home Learning
Please see the links below for this week’s home learning.
I have included a spelling sheet as extra support.
Remember to keep working on times table knowledge and number bonds – the basis for the more complex mathematics.
For handwriting we follow the Nelson scheme, it supports correct formation of letters and helps to keep cursive writing neat and legible.
