Year 2 Home Learning

This week the children have shown great  resilience in the face of some changes to their regular timetables.

This week in English, we have had a real focus on grammar and understanding grammatical terms. Each day, we focused on a new aspect of punctuation or grammar. We completed some examples of how to use it and then answered some questions from past SATs papers.

In maths we have worked on statistics for the first time this year and the children have grasped this new concept well. We have also been finishing our units in; PSHE, History, RE, Music and Computing.

Home Learning
It is now half term, and children have been sent home with 5 SATs papers to help with revision over the break. There is no expectation that all 5 are completed and brought back to school for marking. These are for you to work on with your child, focusing on areas where they may need extra support before the upcoming SATs.
The children have been given 2 reading papers, a SPaG paper, and a reasoning paper. Apologies for not being able to give you the arithmetic paper due to a printing error, but I have attached a copy below. This covers all of the papers they will be sitting except the spelling paper, where the words will be read aloud for them to write as part of a sentence.
Please check EdShed for age-appropriate spellings and rules.
