Year 3 Home Learning- 18.09.26
Hello all
It has been a very busy couple of weeks back to school. All of the children have been settled into year 3 and are beginning to become familiar with our new routines.
This week
In English we have been reading the story ‘Mini Rabbit not lost’ We looked carefully at different skills that we need to structure a story. We worked on using interesting verbs and subordinating conjunctions to give more detail. We ended the week by planning our own stories based around the structure of ‘Mini Rabbit not lost’.
In Maths we have been working on ensuring that we have a good, solid understanding of place value. We have been been working on knowing and partitioning numbers to 1000 and finding 10 and 100 more than a given number.
In History we have begun learning about Nelson Mandela and his early life.
In Science we have been learning about the human skeleton, we made our own skeleton using split pins and enjoyed learning the names of some of the bones and joints.
We also had our first swimming lesson this week- Thank you for ensuring that all children had their swimming kits.
This weeks home learning includes spelling in the Purple Home learning book as well as spelling and maths activities on Ed Shed. There is a writing task as usual which should be completed in your purple books but also a longer project which can be completed over the next couple of weeks.
