Welcome back to school!
English
This week, our writing to entertain unit was on Cinquain poems. The children enjoyed learning about the features and exploring how to create Cinquain poems. Our poems were linked to Remembrance day.
Maths
This week the children finished the multiplication and division unit. The children focused on cube numbers, multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 and multiplying by multiples of 10/ 100/ 100.
RE
The children started the unit on the Holy Bible. We also covered the Hindu celebration of Diwali.
Science
In this week’s lesson, we explored the hardness and uses of materials and developed the working scientifically skill of evaluating a method.

Maths – Unit on fractions; finding fractions equivalent to a unit fraction, finding fractions equivalent to a non-unit fraction, recognising equivalent fractions and converting improper fractions to mixed numbers.
English – Narrative unit linked to the story ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies
