Welcome back – we trust you enjoyed your Christmas holiday.
This week…
In English, we started a new unit; persuasive letters. Our focus text is ‘The Misadventures of Fredrick’ by Ben Manley. Over the week, we identified the key writing devices in persuasive writing and began using them to write a book review and a formal letter to one of the characters.
In maths, our new unit is multiplication and division. This week, we focused on written methods when multiplying numbers up to a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number, multiplying a 2-digit number by a 2-digit number (area model) and Multiply a 2-digit number by a 2-digit number using long multiplication.
In RE, we started a unit on Fasting and Prayer. We also focused on the feast of Theophany.
In Science, we started the unit on Earth and Space. In the first lesson, we explored how models of our Solar System have changed over time from the geocentric to the heliocentric model.
