Year 5, week ending 10.10.25
This week…
In English, we completed our two week unit on writing to entertain. Over the week, the children continued to work on writing devices to produce a vivid setting description.
In Maths, we completed our two week unit on addition and subtraction. We covered; inverse operations (addition and subtraction), multi-step addition and subtraction problems, comparing calculations and finding missing numbers.
In RE, our lesson from our topic ‘We Grow by Worshipping God’, was ‘We worship God all year long’. In this lesson we looked at the Orthodox Church calendar and sorted the key feast days.
We also looked at the Jewish festival Rosh Hashanah; a time for prayer and reflection.
In Science, we explored dissolving and solutions and learnt how to observe and describe in detail.
