Year 5, week ending 15.05.26

At the start of the week, we created and recorded a radio advert.
Later in the week, we began planning ideas for our own product, which we will use in future advert campaigns.

Maths

In the unit position and direction, we learnt about:

• translation
• translation using coordinates
• lines of symmetry
• reflection in horizontal and vertical lines

RE

We started a new unit about beliefs about what happens when we die.

We:

• explored how beliefs about the soul influence ideas about the afterlife
• discussed what purgatory means to different people

Science

We learned about friction and how it helps to slow down or stop moving objects.

Geography

We explored ways to keep our oceans healthy and began planning a fieldwork investigation.
