Year 5, week ending 24.10.25
English
This week we finished our current unit with short stories on being resilient. First, the children generated story ideas in teams. Then each team evaluated the ideas from another group and gave them some tips on which ideas to use. Following this, the children independently planned the final story idea using a fall-rise plot. Finally they drafted, edited and made their story into a book.
Maths
In the unit Multiplication and Division the children focused on prime numbers and square numbers.
RE
The children focused on worship and giving God’s gifts in Greek Orthodox and Jewish faiths.

This week, we explored the evaporation process and how it applies to salt plains.
