Year 6 week ending 04.09.26
Welcome to Year 6 – your final academic year!
We have had a lovely start to the new school year, the children have begun to understand the expectations of the year ahead and are looking forward to what’s to come.
We started English and Maths this week. In English, we introduced our new text, Wisp, and wrote our own dialogue. In Maths, we completed baseline assesments to see what we still need support with from Year 5 before we move into official lessons next week.
Banded reading books have been handed out and children can also take a book from the book corner. Please remind them to change them frequently as they should be reading everyday at home.
PE days: Monday and Thursday, children are to come into school in full PE kit.
Walking home/phones: Please fill in the form so we know which children have permission to walk home.
Spellings to be practiced this week:
Words with the short vowel sound _i_ spelled ‘y’
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Clarke-Benson
