Zakynthos Class Home Learning – Week Ending 09.01.26

Dear Parents, Carers,

This week in English, we started a new book called ‘Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland’. We looked at the character of Alice and the White Rabbit’s journey down the rabbit hole. They also focused on inverted commas and wrote a description of the Tea Party using the five senses and the power of three ( using adjectives for stronger, more exciting descriptions).

In Maths, we continued with the second part of Multiplication and Division. We started on Step 1 to Step 4, Multiples of 10, Related calculations, Reasoning about multiplication and Multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number – no exchange.

In RE, we looked at ‘Theophania’ which takes place on the 6th of January each year. The children were taught about how Jesus was baptist by his cousin John the Baptist in the river Jordon, how the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus and God said how pleased He was with His Son.

In PSHE, we started a new topic Called ‘Health and Wellbeing’, and looked at how to plan for a healthy lifestyle including physical activity, rest and diet and the different types of food groups.
