Zakynthos Class Home Learning – Week Ending 22.05.26

Dear Parents, Carers,

This week in English, we started a new unit called ‘Instructions’, based on a book called ‘Instruction’ about a travellers mysterious adventure through magical realms and lands unknown. The children looked at prepositions, conjunctions and drafted a plan of their own travellers journey with instructions to follow.

In Maths, we continued with Time and we looked at Days and hours, Hours and minutes – use start and end times, Hours and minutes – use durations, Minutes and seconds and Units of time.

In RE, we continued with Islam and looked at the ‘Five Pillars’ and how important they were to the Muslims. On Thursday, it was ‘Ascension Day’ and we talked and discussed why it was an important day for the Greek Orthodox Christians and Christians.

In PSHE, we stared a new unit called ‘Economic Well being’. Our first lesson was about understanding how people paid for things and the  advantages and disadvantages of different methods of payment (Cash, digital wallet, credit and debit card and online banking). we also looked at what budgeting means and why budgeting is important.
