Zakynthos Class – Week Ending 04.07.25

This week in Zakynthos Class……

In English, the children have started looking at a new book called ‘ Incredible Jobs You’ve Never Heard Of’.  We started to discuss the purpose of the book and who they think the audience for this information text might be for. The children then had the task of writing about a particular job like an Armpit Sniffer or a Bed Jumper which they had fun doing.   Then their next task was to discuss, plan and write about a job of their choice.

In Maths, the children started a new unit ‘Money, and they recapped about pounds and pence, then they learnt how to convert pounds and pence and also how to add money.

In Science, we continued with the unit ‘Making Connections’. The children had to create a bar chart based on the relationship between viscosity and how fast a liquid flows. The used the results from the previous week to complete their Bar Chart.

Y3 list 35- Revision Words – Homework Sheet

For handwriting we follow the Nelson scheme, it supports correct formation of letters and helps to keep cursive writing neat and legible.

Remember to keep working on times table knowledge and number bonds – the basis for the more complex mathematics.
