Zakynthos Home Learning – Week Ending 17.10.25

Good afternoon Parents and Carers,

This week in English, we started our Whole-School writing based on the book called ‘The Tree and the River’ by Aaron Becker. We first talked and discussed the front cover and then each page as the book has no words. Then the children had to create a Kenning Poem based on a tree or a river relating to the book.

In Maths, we continued with our unit Addition and Subtraction. We focused on Subtract 10s Across a 100, Make connections, Add two numbers (no exchange), Subtract two numbers (no exchange) and Add two numbers (across a 10).

In Science, we looked at ‘How food is an essential energy source for animals’.

In RE, the lesson was based on ‘To know marriage is the Sacrament of Love’. We looked at the seven sacraments of love, what happens when a couple gets married, what the ring, the crowns and the cup of wine means. We also looked at the bible story called ‘The Miracle at Cana’.
