Zakynthos Class – Week Ending 26.09.25
Good afternoon Parent and Carers,
This week in English, we completed to the end of our Narrative Unit and the children had to write their own adventure story based on the structure of Mini Rabbit Not Lost story. They first had to plan, then proof read their story, say their story out loud to an adult and to one of their peers and they finished off with using a writing frame to publish their amazing adventure story.
In Maths this week, we have completed the unit Place Value. The children focused on Estimating on a number line to 1,000, Compared numbers to 1,000, Ordered numbers to 1,000 and Counted in 50s.
In Science, we continued with our unit on ‘Animals: Movement and Nutrition’ and looked at naming key bones in the human skeleton, as well as identifying the location of key bones. Working scientifically, the children had to measure the length of different bones and sort the data into size order .
In Music, the children first recapped what Calypso music is and how it started, then we looked at how and why percussion instruments can be used in calypso music.
In RE, the children learnt about why Jesus wants us to love God and they had to write a story of how they have shown kindness to others.
Please find the home learning attached using the link below and we have also included a spelling sheet as extra support.
