Zakynthos – Week Ending 18.10.24

Dear Parents, Carers,

This week in English, we completed our big write; a newspaper report on the arrival of the Windrush. We also looked at poetry related to the Windrush Generation. The children were able to identify the themes and to identify poetic features too.

In Maths, the children focused on learning how to add and subtract two numbers with no exchange and how to add two numbers across a 10 and a 100.

In Science, the children had an enjoyable time learning that animal faeces (poo) can give us clues about digestion, teeth and diet. They used a magnifying glass to look at different pictures of faeces from different animals and had to complete a Poo Clue Results Table. They had to guess the animal, whether they were herbivore, carnivore or omnivore and what was in the poo.

In RE, we learnt about the importance of Christian Harvest and the importance of being thankful.
