13th October 2023 – Ourselves

Ourselves

This week we have been:

Reading a story called ‘I don’t want to wash my hands’. We learnt about why we need to wash our hands and how to wash our hands and make sure all the gems have gone. We know that gems can be anywhere, and we cannot see them! We need to make sure we wash our hands before we eat, this will stop the gems from getting into our tummies and making us sick.

In phonics this week we have started thinking about the different sounds that musical instruments make. We have also been using stop and go cards to help us learn how to play together.

In math’s this week we have been learning about the number 3 and counting groups of objects. We have been learning how to write the number 3, ‘around the tree, around the tree, that’s the way we make a 3’. We have also been grouping families of dogs and counting how many dogs are in each family.

In RE this week we have had lots of fun learning about how God made Autumn. We have been learning about the different kinds of weather we will see in autumn, what kinds of clothes we might wear and what autumn looks like outside. We have had lots of fun making autumn trees and exploring autumn colour leaves. We read a story called ‘Pumpkin soup’ and we made pumpkin soup in the water tray. The story also helped us understand why it’s important to share and work together.

We have also been thinking about how God loves our families and we have been drawing pictures of our families. We have also been playing families using the playhouses and figures.

Next week we will be:

  • Learning about Black History through stories.
  • Learning about sounds that musical instruments make.
  • Learning about the number 4 and the 1p coin.
  • Reading a story from the bible called ‘Feeding many people’.
  • Learning about Buddhism.
