In the Garden

The very hungry caterpillar.

A very happy new and warm welcome back to a new term at school.  The children have returned full of smiles, enthusiasm and news of their Easter holidays and we have very much enjoyed catching up with them all.

This term, our topic will be ‘In the garden’ and our learning will be inspired by reading lots of stories about minibeast and plants, such as ‘The very hungry caterpillar’ and ‘The enormous turnip’.

Reception class have been very busy observing our caterpillars. The children have been very motivated to record what they can see. This experience has supported our talk for writing and we have been learning the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Soon our caterpillars will turn into their cocoons. We are patiently waiting for our butterflies to emerge!

What can you see when you go to the park, or in your garden?? Do you think you can make a 3D poster about everything in your garden or park?

Have a lovely weekend,

Reception Teachers.
