Year 4 – Ithaca, Samos, Symi

Welcome to Year 4!

This term we are studying the Ancient Greeks and using it as a platform for our learning in Literacy and Numeracy, as well as Topic.

In Literacy we are writing newspaper reports, with a focus on sentence structure and writing in the past tense. So far we have come up with some very interesting sentences! By the end of the week, the children will have written a report on the Olympics opening ceremony.

In Numeracy we are exploring formal methods for addition, in particular the column method. We are also looking at Carroll diagrams, and how they can be used.

In our Topic learning, we are looking at a timeline of key events that happened during the Ancient Greek times.
