Year 4 week beginning 28th November 2016

Welcome back to year 4.

In numeracy this week we are rounding whole numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.  Some of us have also begun to round decimals to the nearest whole number and of course there are still one or two fiendish word problems still floating around!  At the end of the week we are going to be measuring capacity of liquids so if you can lend us PLASTIC measuring jugs on Thursday and Friday that would be helpful.

In literacy we are organising the information that we have gathered about the Romans into sub headings and paragraphs ready to use when we write our report at the end of the week.

In R.E. this week we are learning about St Andrew.  We will learn about how he became a disciple of Jesus and how he spread the teachings of Jesus after Jesus’s ascension.  We will celebrate his life and reflect on his death.  He was martyred on an x-shaped cross as he did not see himself worthy enough to die on the same shaped cross as Jesus.

In P.E. we are continuing to develop our basketball skills through exercises and matches.

This week’s spellings are inform, admire, sense, adore, prepare, preparation, information, admiration, sensation and adoration.
