Year 3 10.10.16

In literacy this week we will be learning how to write letters and if we are really lucky we will be writing to children in another school. We will also be learning how to use dictionaries effectively to support our writing.

In maths we will be recalling multiples of 2, 5, 10, 50 and 100. Please explain to your children that if they know their 5 and 10 times tables, they can easily work out their 50 and 100 times tables.

We will also be learning how to measure using kilograms and grams and we will be comparing volume and capacity.

Spellings this week will be gym, symbols, crystal, hymns,  typical, mystery, syrup, myths, lyrics and pyramid.

Please practise these at home as the children will be tested on them on Friday.

Year 3 week beginning 26.9.16

In numeracy we will be learning our number bonds to 100,  adding and subtracting numbers mentally up to 100 and we will also be learning about perimeter and how to find the perimeter of simple 2D shapes.
