Good afternoon,

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. It has been wonderful to hear about all the exciting things the children enjoyed during the two-week break!

This week in English, we have been focusing on writing sentences using the conjunction ‘and’. In maths, we have been exploring numbers to 20 as part of our place value topic.

Thank you to everyone who completed the science project over the holidays. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking through them all and it is clear how much time and effort went into each one—thank you!

Have a fantastic weekend,
Miss Hooker x

Thank you!

A huge thank you to all parents and guardians for the lovely cards and generous gifts — they were incredibly kind and very much appreciated. Your continued support throughout the term has meant so much, and it has been a real pleasure teaching your wonderful children.
Thank you also for your contributions to the Christmas party. The children have had an absolutely fantastic week and have thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations.
Wishing a very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, and a Happy New Year to everyone. I look forward to seeing you all again in 2026.
Best wishes,
Miss Hooker xx

Good afternoon,
What a wonderful week it has been at St Cyprian’s! We’ve enjoyed so many festive moments together — from the Year 2 and EYFS Nativities to dancing along with Christmas songs, taking part in Christmas activities, and having lots of fun at our Christmas party.
Attached, you’ll find the home learning for the Christmas holidays. You may notice it looks a little different this time — I’ve replaced the usual English task with an engaging and exciting project linked to our new science topic for after half term.
We hope the children really enjoy this project, and we can’t wait to see their creations during the first week back after the holidays.
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas, and thank you sincerely for your support throughout the first term.
Warm regards,
Miss Hooker x

Good afternoon,

This week in English we have been using the personal pronoun ‘I’ to write our very own traditional tale! In maths, we have continued to recap the number bonds within 10 using concrete resources such as ten frames and counters.

Please encourage your child to practise our song ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’ over the weekend – it would be much appreciated! 🙂
