Home Learning 9.10.26

Dear Parents,

This week, we have been exploring and writing our own poems about colours. In Maths, we practised our addition and subtraction skills, looking at using part-whole model method. Additionally, we learned about Rosh Hashanah and how it is celebrated. We looked at how Jewish celebrate their new year and at their different traditions.

Home Learning 2.10.26

Dear Parents,

This week we continued reading the story ‘Puffin Peter’ and we wrote about our favourite parts of the story.

In maths, we had a focus on addition and subtraction, identifying parts and wholes.

We continued practicing our first computing skills and how to use the mouse to draw shapes and edit shapes.

In PSHE we discussed about what helps us to feel calm and excited to talked about how to use different strategies.

We also read the story of Saint Cyprian and discussed why this saint is important for our school community.

Home Learning 25.9.26

Dear Parents,

This week we have been practising our sentence composition through the story of ‘Puffin Peter’. In maths we worked on our place value to 10 i.e greater than , less than and equals to a number. We have also looked at Mary Seacole’s life as part of Black History and discussed different facts about her life. In RE, we looked at Saint George and why he is important to the Orthodox Christians.

Cyprus class FINAL home learning 17.7.26

Good afternoon,
This week, Cyprus Class have been busy consolidating their learning in Maths, revisiting topics such as time and place value. In English, they have enjoyed putting the finishing touches to their stories and have proudly read them aloud to other classes.
There will be no phonics homework this week.
As we come to the end of the school year, I would like to say a huge thank you for all of your support with your child’s learning, your kind words and encouragement, and for the involvement you have shown throughout the year. It has been an absolute pleasure teaching Cyprus Class, and I will miss each and every one of them.
The children have worked incredibly hard, grown so much in confidence, and should be immensely proud of everything they have achieved. They are a real credit to you, and you should be very proud of them.
I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing, and safe summer. Wishing all of the children the very best of luck as they begin their exciting journey into Year 2—I know they will all do brilliantly.

The children have continued exploring coins and notes as part of our money topic in maths this week. They have also had lots of fun learning all about noun phrases and applying these to describe a monster/creature!

Cyprus class home learning 19.6.26

Good afternoon,

In maths this week, the children have been busy continuing with our topic of place value within 100. In English, they have been exploring different life cycles and even invented their very own bugs!

The children will be visiting the church on Wednesday morning. Please do not forget that our school trip is on the 30th June.
