Welcome to Reception

Happy Half Term 🙂

Dear parents,

This week children have been exploring their 5 senses through different activities.

During R.E, we introduced ‘Buddhism’, and their traditions while also talking about the similarities with Christianity.

Children enjoyed the song ‘Pantosaurus Dinosaur’ and we talked about how important it is to keep our private parts to our self  and where to seek help if needed. Here is the song The Pantosaurus Song! | #TalkPANTS | NSPCC – YouTube.

Kipper’s Birthday (Week ending 20.01.23)

Dear parents,

This week we have been making lists of what do you need in order to prepare a birthday party, based on our book ‘Kipper’s Birthday’.

In Maths, we have been working on our counting in combination with finding the corresponding Numicon shape. We are going to be sending the worksheet with the numbers and the rhymes home; this is for you to keep at home to practice with your little ones.

Children have been exploring different types of foods that they can eat and how each one helps in providing their bodies with vitamins and nutrients. We introduce the idea of 5 fruits and vegetables per day.

Welcome back to everyone. We hope you had a great Christmas holidays.

This week, we have been talking about Christmas and how we spent our holidays.

We celebrated Epiphany, children have learnt about Saint Basil the Great and made a Vasilopita, which is a New Year’s Day bread, cake or pie in Greece. The cake contains a hidden coin or trinket which gives good luck to the receiver. So careful when your children eat the cake at home!!
